What's up with that?

Well it is still a cool place to hang out. There are now bits and pieces of info floating about that clearly indicate the nature of ACF in Congo is a bit bedraggled. I feel kind of like the buck-toothed handicapped little brother jumping and clapping for attention of the ‘big boys’.

It is not helping when the other NGOs are pumping my hands and slapping my back with sentiments of understanding… There are way too many offers of assistance to be comfortable.

It shouldn’t be like this. I shouldn’t be feeling so embarrassed. I shouldn’t have to hear sad stories of expats and hookers in the office and line-ups. I arrived and the only expats I met happened to be heading home under black clouds – every one demissioned early. What does that say?

I met a woman just yesterday who started in ACF in Lumbu, demissioned and moved to MSF in Dubié, demissioned and is now back in Dubié with Concern. SHE has some interesting stories.
