Random musings from the road
I don't have a radio. I had one, it didn't work. I chucked it in the bush. Now the only radio I have is my mind as it wanders about. And it is pissing me off...

long day, feeling very 'fried'. Seems that the whole trip from Powell River to Gibsons was all up, how is that possible? Had to take a swim in the lake at the height of land, but it did not help. Made Molly's Reach (of Beachcomber's fame) for a beer. Poor Corrine seemed a bit grumpy. Wonder if it was because I stunk?

Big day! Got a free ride on the ferry to Van. Had a flat run with a tailwind, yet the traffic in Van was brutal - mental really. I had to do 50 km on the TCH before I could turn off to Hwy 7 and enjoy the rest of the day. Spent big bucks: 2 eggMcmuffin, 1 icecap, 1 coke and chips, can of sardines and one ichiban. mmmm healthy eating there! No wonder I feel sick. Made it to Harrison Hot-springs and chilled in the pool (5 bucks, local price!) and used this time to soak and coincidently do a laundry. My ass is brused and needs a tonne of loving.

Pulled into Hope with Keith and Bruce - hardcore bikers with support vehicles! They bow to me and my load (or so they say!). Left Hope with a new plan...no longer travelling east along Hwy 3. Turns out that there are too many HUGE hills. Highway 3, it seems, has 4 high passes and one of them is the largest climb in BC. skip that! So I follow the tried and true TCH(only 1 pass - the Kicking Horse Pass) and pulled in 170 km into Lytton. Couldn't visit Lytton because the 1km hill down into town was too daunting a hill to climb up. Found the most spectacular campsite on the bluffs over the Fraser river. THIS is CANADA!
